In the Renissance era the ancient greeks were the first to develop astronomy and they acted on astronomy as a higher level of mathematics. They also were the ones to create the first 3-D model of what they thought was the movement of the planets. After this the study of astronomy was less of a math related subject and they started to use different approach and philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle tried to give reasons for the motions of the Cosmos using a method Plato first developed which was that the universe was made up of circles that carried planets and the universe was ruled by th"World Soul".

Also the Greeks were ahead of their time on according to technology as well because a astronomical computer was found and it had the characteristics of a 18th century clock which historians believed was invented in the 16th century.
